CPlus - Ending Your Membership
Ending Your Membership
Ending your membership in our Plan may be voluntary (your own choice) or involuntary (not your own choice):
- You might leave our Plan because you have decided that you want to leave
- There are also situations where we would end your membership
When you first enroll, you have 30 days to decide whether or not you want to keep your Medicare Supplement policy. If you decide you are not satisfied with your policy and notify Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama, either in writing or by phone, we will refund any premiums.
In the future should you decide you wish to terminate your present policy and replace it with new coverage, be sure to write or call Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama. Your C Plus coverage will not automatically cancel if you enroll in another Medicare Supplement or Medicare Advantage plan with us or another carrier. This also applies if you enroll in an employer provided group health plan. You can call our Customer Service Department at 1-888-417-4775 (TTY 711), Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. You can write to us at P.O. Box 995, Birmingham, Alabama 35298-001.
Please be sure to include your contract number on all written correspondence to us.
If you are replacing it with another health insurance policy, do not cancel until you have actually received your new policy and are sure you want to keep it.
Involuntary terminations, your contract will end automatically without notice from us:
- If we do not receive your fees within 30 days after they are due
- Misstated material information on your application
- If you die, your contract ends on the date of your death
